April 27, 2010 Reflection Assignment 1, CED 0510
During this weeks learning we have been exploring the components inside of a computer and how the hardware functions. It is extremely important to understanding hardware components and their functions because in order to be a "troubleshooter" an individual must know how things are to function. There are many times a computer is not functioning properly and if individuals know what things are suppose to do there could be much time saved by pinpointing a problem and knowing whether it is a hardware or a software issue.

Mary, your last line is exactly how I feel sometimes. I am hoping we learn more about troubleshooting as it is extremely important to know the differences between the hardware and software. This under the hood project helped "open" my eyes to some of the hardware lingo.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more, Rachel. The Under the Hood project was definitely an eye-opener for me also. I was a little overwhelmed by it at first, but felt better about it after I actually did it. Now it doesn't seem so scary to tinker around inside my computer.
ReplyDeleteExcellent post. Troubleshooting is such a tricky endeavor, yet many problems get solved by a simple restart. Preventing problems is important also. But you got me thinking about adding some ideas to the course.
